For those with more or less experience, this workshop will introduce participants to aspects of physical theatre through practice, including ensemble work, voice, impulse play, and acrobatics. Discover what stories, rhythms and colours you can access through your body and learn to use your physicality as a pathway to your imagination. This is a hands-on workshop.

Kaeridwyn Eftelya

Workshop facilitator Kaeridwyn Eftelya is a professional Canadian theatre artist currently residing in London. She has trained in Grotowski-based theatre, corporeal mime and Pochinko clowning. A graduate of Tooba Physical Theatre Centre, she has worked with Dean Fogal, Thrasso Petras, and David MacMurray-Smith as a part of her training in her native Vancouver. Since then Kaeridwyn has been exploring theatre across the globe, including stints in Europe and residencies in India, where she has lived for the last three years. During her time in India, Kaeridwyn has taught theatre to adults and children, as well as creating original work such as The Little Wanderer, a multidisciplinary ensemble piece that encompassed physical theatre, puppetry and live music. She has also participated in workshops, such as L'école Nomade with Ariane Mnouchkine and the Theatre du Soleil, and A-C-T training with Anna-Helena Mclean of Moon Fool. Kaeridwyn is currently living and working in London, and looking forward to being back in Vancouver.
